Ghanaian blogger, digital advertiser, and Radio & Tv Personality Barimah Amoaning Samuel has been awarded the digital marketer of the year at this year’s Youth Excellence Awards, Africa.
The Ceremony which was held at the plush silver star towers in Accra Ghana is an awards scheme which seeks to honour and celebrate outstanding youth in Africa who goes through thick and thin to create a positive impact on society in their various field of work.
As the creative director and founder of Entamoty media ltd (a digital advertising and content creation agency), Barimah has been able to assist several local and international brands to generate leads and build an online presence.
After founding Entamoty media ltd, Barimah joined an Accra-based radio station (class fm) in 2017, where he hosted his radio show, which focused on youth entrepreneurship, technology, and social issues.
The Ghana digital training programme is one of the projects he introduced at Entamoty to equip hundreds of young people with digital skills like blogging, YouTubing, digital content creation, and digital marketing.
With over half a million followers on social media, Barimah has been assisting with digital advertising strategies in the sub-Sahara Regions for brands such as EziPay Africa, twellium industrial ltd, UBA bank, Music Africa of Canada, Transsion ads, itel mobile, infinix mobile, Verna mineral water, and many other brands.
During the global pandemic (covid-19), Barimah partnered with twellium foundation to make donations worth of thousands of cedis to the pandemic frontliners (Ghana police, health workers) in Ghana.
He plays a major humanitarian role at non-governmental organizations like greenway international foundation, Ghanafest Toronto, Afrofest Canada, Ghana gold expo, hope clean Ghana, and many more.
Barimah Amoaning Samuel believes that equipping young Africans with digital skills can travel a long way to reduce the unemployment rate in Africa.
Who is Barimah Amoaning Samuel?
Barimah Amoaning Samuel is a Ghanaian blogger and radio personality. As of January 2019, he was the host of youth show Entamoty Live on Class FM in Accra.
Career
Amoaning Samuel hails from the Central Region of Ghana and received training in Broadcast Journalism from the Ghana Media School. He is the founder of Ghanaian entertainment and digital advertising company Entamoty Media Limited.
As the host of a youth show, Amoaning addresses a number of causes that affect the lives of young people. Among the themes of his conversation are the dangers in young people’s digital spaces such as revenge porn. His advocacy against revenge porn includes a push towards the criminalization of the act by the lawmakers of Ghana.
Amoaning Samuel has recently deliberated the abuse of opioids on his shows; most notable in Ghana being the painkiller Tramadol. Joining the fight against drug abuse, he has been reported on different media championing a call for ban on the use of Tramadol.
Recognition
In 2018, Barimah was voted among the top 50 most influential bloggers in Ghana; an annual ranking organised by Avance Media, a Ghanaian media and public relations agency. He was one of 18 speakers at the TEDxAccra series of African thought-leadership events dubbed Africa Dialogues in 2017.
In 2019, Barimah was nominated for both Male Entrepreneur and Overall Entrepreneur of the year at the Achievers Summit and Awards. He also emerged winner of the popular vote for the Blogger of the year at the Social Media and Entertainment Awards in July 2019.
